Global Warming... Is A Crock?

Blaming global warming on us powerful humans is a huge accusation. We're such wasteful creatures that the Earth would be soooooo much better off without us because we do nothing but pollute it and only care about ourselves.

Hmmm... well, I've always had a hard time biting this one. Something just feels off in giving Humanity the Dirty Eyeball when it comes to Global Warming. And don't ya know, thanks to science, it looks like Al Gore has his work cut out for him in convincing people that "he's right."

I accidentally fell across this web site today, while doing a little research about Global Warming, because honestly, it's easy to feel that bit of panic creep in when thinking about my children's future. It's already really hard to imagine them HAVING a future with threats of terrorism looming overhead constantly. It's stressful thinking about how my children may very well live in a bomb shelter or be unable to have children of their own from radiation poisoning if Iran ever does drop their bombs on us. In all honesty, I'd much rather not worry so much that the hand pump of olive oil I use for cooking might be harming the ozone layer (which is regenerating itself, by the way, and is not nearly as large as it was 15 years ago). I'd really rather not worry that the disposable diapers I've been lucky enough to be able to use are emitting harmful fumes that will trigger Mt Saint Helen's to erupt and the geyser in Yellowstone National Park to suddenly start spewing lava instead of water and steam.

So anyway, just something to think about.

“We’re not saying that Global Warming isn’t a reality, we’re just saying that anthropogenic warming and greenhouse gas emissions are an insignificant influence on climate change when compared to natural climate-changing phenomena.”– Cap’n Bob & the Damsel

“Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled. Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you’re being had.”– Michael Crichton

Here's another interesting article that my brother just me about Al Gore's $30,000 Utility Bill and his "Environmental Hyprocrisy."

My husband pointed this out to me about Global Warming. What is everyones concern about GW? What is their worse fear? That the earth will flood from all the melting, right? What is the significance of a rainbow? It is God's promise that he will never flood the earth again and get rid of mankind. So in my opinion, GW is just totally out of proportion.

I agree, great point. Now, this isn't to say I don't believe in Global Warming. I do believe it's a concern, BUT I don't believe that it's being caused by humans. Or at least, we're not the MAIN cause. I think that *maybe* human causes for Global Warming are a very small percentage, like maybe 10%. The rest is caused by the sun/sunspots, the fact that the Earth's poles are shifting again. One huge point in the article on the Cap'n Bob site is that not so long ago, 30 years or so, scientists were convinced we were entering an Ice Age and that we *should* be in one right now, yet here we are worrying about Global Warming instead of Global Cooling into an Ice Age. Whatever happened to paying attention to El Nino and El Nina?
